2D/3D of Bicycle Parking

2D/3D of Bicycle Parking’ seeks to graphically represent the physical space of a bicycle parking zone in my neighbourhood. The publication is 100% handmade and is intended to be attached to a public sharing bike. A sharing feature is especially emphasized in this interactive publication.

The form of the publication, including the parallelogram shape and the paint marking, echoes the real parking zone. The seven pages are embossed with eight different textures found around my neighbourhood.  A transparent plastic card drawn with the symbol found in the parking lot is featured in the book. It can be inserted in different pages to overlap the texture, meaning to mark the parking location of the bike. There is also a transparent last page to trigger interaction with riders so that they can feature any interesting texture they found on the way of riding. As the cable tie is often seen to attach labels to public sharing bikes, I applied it here to bind the book and attach the book to the bike.
